Common Viruses & Infections

Just like taking your child to daycare, your dog can get ill too. Even with a spotless environment, dogs can bring infections from parks, other daycares, etc.

Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

Persistent cough (like something stuck in throat), foamy vomit. Many dogs recover on their own. Antibiotics may be needed in some cases.

Influenza (Dog Flu)

Vomiting, refusing food/drink, diarrhea. Dogs must stay hydrated. Contact us immediately if suspected.

Conjunctivitis

Green/yellow mucus eye discharge. Very common in daycare. Eye drops with Boric Acid usually work if caught early.

Giardia

Intestinal infection from contaminated water. Symptoms: diarrhea, greasy stool, foul gas, abdominal bloating.
