Dog Boarding FAQ — Spokane, WA

Pricing, vaccines, hours, what to bring and how a stay at our Colbert farm works.

Do I need a meet & greet before my dog's first stay?

No — a meet & greet is completely optional and always free. You're welcome to book online and come straight in for your first stay. Many owners find it helpful if their dog has never been boarded before, has had anxiety or behavioral challenges in the past, or if they simply want to see the farm and meet the caretakers before committing. It's a great option for peace of mind, but never a requirement.

When do I pay?

We save your card securely when you book. A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total boarding cost secures your booking and is applied toward your final invoice; the remaining balance is charged after your dog's stay is complete. You can also add a tip before the final charge.

What vaccinations are required?

Rabies, DHPP (Distemper/Parvo), and Bordetella (kennel cough). There is a 3-day waiting period after a Bordetella vaccine. Please bring proof from your vet.

What should I bring for my dog's stay?

Your dog's food (portioned by meal), any medications, a favorite toy or blanket for comfort, and their leash and collar.

What are your drop-off and pick-up hours?

Every day, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Early or late drop-off and pick-up is available by appointment — call us to arrange it. There is a $20 fee for drop-off or pick-up outside regular hours.

Do you offer grooming?

Yes! Grooming can be added to any boarding or daycare stay, or booked as a standalone appointment. First-time grooming is 30% off.

Can I bring multiple dogs?

Absolutely. Dogs from the same household can stay together at the same standard nightly rate for boarding (summer and holiday rates apply the same way as a single dog).

What's your cancellation policy?

You may cancel within 1 hour of booking for a full refund with no fees. Cancellations after that are charged a 20% cancellation fee, and no-shows are charged the full booking amount. The 20% deposit is non-refundable, so please book only when your dates are firm.

How much does dog boarding cost near Spokane?

Overnight boarding is $39 per dog per night. Summer nights (June 1 – August 31) are $44, and holiday nights are $49. Only the nights that fall in a summer or holiday window are billed at that rate, and your exact total is always shown before you book.

Where is Green Bluff Pastures located?

We're a family-run working farm at 16902 N Hardesty Rd in Colbert, WA — right off Highway 395, about 10 minutes from North Spokane. Pet owners from Colbert, Mead, Deer Park, North Spokane, Spokane Valley, Greenacres and Liberty Lake use us for boarding.

Will my dog be kept in a kennel all day?

No. Each dog has their own kennel for sleeping overnight and eating meals, but that's the only time they're in it. The rest of the day they come and go from our fully fenced outdoor play area as they like.

Will my dog play with other dogs?

Yes, in small groups. Dogs are grouped by size, age and activity level, with constant supervision, and we limit how many dogs stay at once so every dog gets individual attention.

Do you offer long-term dog boarding?

Yes. Long-term stays use the same nightly rate regardless of length — no weekly surcharge — and include everything in standard boarding. For stays over two weeks we schedule a mid-stay update.

What are the requirements to board a dog?

Dogs must be at least 4 months old, spayed or neutered if over 6–7 months, current on Rabies, Distemper (DHPP) and Bordetella, flea- and tick-free, in good general health and not aggressive. Dogs that were in a shelter in the last 14 days need a 2-week waiting period.

Will I get updates while I'm away?

Yes — we do daily check-ins and send updates so you know how your dog is doing.

Full details are on our policies page, and you can see all rates on the dog boarding page.
